While the food and service receive substantial acclaim, some patrons note that the diner’s decor feels outdated. The old-fashioned charm may not appeal to everyone but adds to the nostalgic vibe for many.
Occasional complaints about the price of drinks, particularly soda, which some see as excessive at nearly $4, indicate room for improvement. Additionally, a few customers mention that certain items, like the burger bun, could use a quality upgrade, even if the overall dining experience impresses.

A must every time going to Hudson. Best food . Nothing fancy inside. Wonderful service. Excellent prices

Great "greasy spoon" home cooked type breakfast. I always visit it when in town, for over 20 years. Wait staff is always friendly. They still use real eggs for scrambled and omelets, where other places are using remixed bag eggs.

Although time has left this place behind inside and out, there’s a certain local feel to this place, as unassuming as its name. I had a great burger—“One-eyed”—a bacon cheese burger topped with a fried egg done over easy. The burger was flame broiled for nice flavor, with real crispy bacon. Fries were hot and crispy. Only the bun was subpar, a bit dry. Prices were decent and good value, though charging nearly $4 for soda was excessive. Service was excellent and friendly. Definitely will return to try other dishes.

This is just the best diner in the whole Hudson Valley. Couldn’t recommend more. Today we had the gyro Wednesday lunch special and it was delicious. Ate every morsel.

My boyfriend and I really loved this place. We came for breakfast on our way out of Hudson. Our service was really wonderful, and everything came out pretty quick. I had a delicious Texas benedict with grits and my boyfriend had some french toast. We really appreciate small places like this that are old school and honor home style cooking. Prices were also cheap which we appreciate, considering how much the cost of things have gone up with literally everything right now. We would definitely come back!!
